Ajanta Packaging takes the pioneering steps for waste management in label indusrty installs Matho waste handling system
Leading label printer Ajanta Packaging with facilities in Mumbai, Daman, Baddi and UAE has taken pioneering steps for managing their process waste in manufacturing self adhesive labels by opting to install a Matho waste management system at their plant in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.
Ajanta makes self-adhesive labels using a variety of printing processes in combination with cold and hot foil stamping. Inputs include paper, Polyethylene, Polyester, Metalised stock, Silicon coated release liners etc. Matho has provided the equipment to handle the waste emanating out of their production process.
The main part of the Matho installation is the Cuttopipe, a cutting unit that can be combined with a specially developed lubrication unit suitable to handle self-adhesive material. In addition to the environmental benefits Ajanta has seen an increase in productivity and a cleaner environment in their unit. Normally converting had to be interrupted regularly to handle accumulating waste. "Now nonstop production is possible", says Sachin Arya at Ajanta.
The sale has been handled by New Delhi based, Weldon Celloplast Limited, the exclusive agents for Matho in India and surrounding countries. Says Pawandeep Sahni, Director marketing at Weldon, "Ajanta, under the leadership of Chandan Bhai, has always tried to stay ahead and contribute in making pioneering advances in the label industry, this one for the environment!"
